Free Education Donate
In Rwanda, many social groups are badly affected by war and economic problems. Numerous people missed on education and have no chance to catch up, since the fees of most schools are beyond their means. There are no jobs for unskilled labour force.
Hope After Rape is our largest project coordinated by Athanase Rukinga. They do provide lots of hope to a wide range of beneficiaries. They give free education to more than 1000 students, they have AIDS counselling centre, anti-violence awareness campaign, micro-finance income generating activities, unity and reconciliation programme. The organization was started as a result of concern about genocide survivors and increasing number of reports of sexual abuse and other forms of gender based violence.
Learning is a privilege

Thanks to the
initiative of Hope After Rape many students got another chance to
complete their education. Learning should not be a privilege, especially when it concerns basic skills. Hope After Rape provides free education and vocational courses, unfortunately, it is still beyond the reach of the majority.
Free basic education is one of the Millenium Development Goals, and this project is an oustanding contribution of Rwandan volunteers to the realization of that goal. |
Giving Hope for a better future
The insufficient number of schools and the limited number of teachers combined with poverty causes difficulties in access to education for all.
Adults and children alike are spending years without access to learning while their true potential is melting slowly into patterns of resignation and hopelessness. It is apparent that the problem does not simply reside in the lack of schools, but also in the lack of reading and learning materials, libraries and resources centres.
